Debut CD from Rob White

Let It Ride, the debut album from saxophonist Rob White, advanced by the first single "Fin De Semana"--which is in its sixth week of chart climbing and national spins, just jumped eleven spots on the Smoothjazz.com Top 50 to come in at number 47, and is receiving a noteworthy number of spins on jazz, smooth jazz and urban AC radio--will be in stores nationwide on Tuesday May 30, 2006. The album release party, for Let It Ride, will be held at CIBO Ristorante Italiano in the Castleton section of Indianapolis, on June 22, 2006.

For this eleven-song disc, featuring Rob White on soprano and alto saxophone eloquently performing original tunes and covers, executive producer Beau Huggins, who molded the careers of hit makers Najee, Alex Bugnon, Melba Moore, Freddie Jackson, and Meli'sa Morgan, paired White with seasoned producer, Yasha. Together, the two have created a musical masterpiece in Let It Ride, filled with special moments--including "A House Is Not A Home, " a tribute to one of Rob's greatest influences, Luther Vandross.

"The chemistry between White and Yasha was undeniably unique, " says Charli Huggins, Orpheus Music V.P. Yasha, who helped create the sounds of Najee and Alex Bugnon, agrees. "When Rob began to play "I Wish I Wasn't" it sounded like a Heather Headley song. But when I told him to play it two octaves higher, he made it a Rob White song. I saw Najee and "Sweet Love" all over again, Yasha exclaims. Additional proof of their chemistry is in "Summer Groovin", which almost made the cut list. But Beau said he heard "something special in that song, and proof that Yasha took Rob to a professional level he did not believe was attainable."

White, a Dallas, TX native and Indianapolis, IN resident is enjoying local press attention and building a dedicated local following through regular appearances at Rick's Cafe Boat Yard where he leads the house band on Tuesday nights. He set off his promotional tour for the album with a live performance at the Indianapolis Madam Walker Theater Center on May 26 as the featured artist for the "Jazz on the Avenue" dinner concert where he was well received for his performance of "Fin De Semana" and several other tunes from Let It Ride. Already in session is a nine-week run at the Conrad Indianapolis, a new luxury hotel in the heart of downtown, where he can be seen in Vitesse, the lobby lounge, every Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. through June 28th. On July 17th White sets off for a six-city tour, as part of the Nestle Coffee-mate "Flavor the Day" Sweepstakes promotion, where he will be the featured performer during the Nestle Coffee-mate "Flavor the Day" Appreciation Breakfast salons in Atlanta, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Memphis and Houston.
