| The Stew Cutler Trio At 55 Bar The Stew Cutler Trio (Stew Cutler- Guitar, Gene Torres - Bass, Garry Bruer - Drums) will play on Sunday May 21, 2006 at 55 Bar, New York. Stew Cutler is a New Yorker, born & raised, his personality is smooth, just like his guitar playing. No muss no fuss just Stew, always accommodating, music flows from Stew Cutler. Becoming interested in the Guitar at an early age he began playing professionally in 1973. Since then, Stew has been a sideman, Bandleader, session musician, and composer. As a sideman Cutler has performed worldwide with well-known blues and R&B legends: Percy Sledge, Eddie Floyd, Wilson Pickett, Fontella Bass, and many others. Cutler is also on an impressive list of recordings with Jazz Greats: Bill Frisell, David Sanborn, Lester Bowie, Bobby Previte and Wayne Horvitz. After years of work in sessions and clubs as a sideman and bandleader, Cutler's own music reflects his various collaborations and influences throughout his career. Stew has an earthy blend of Jazz and Blues with a down home feeling. Watching him onstage you can see how immersed he is in the rhythms, on solo's he turns up the heat and the audience listens. Now with his latest released CD "So Many Streams" receiving air play throughout the USA, people are noticing this quiet New York Guitarist, so it's no surprise that Stew will make his debut performance as Bandleader at the 55 Bar. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
