| Pearl are almost ready with their debut albuml Lisa Nimmo and Shelley Hirini are Pearl - two talented songwriters from Wellington with their own unique sound - developed in co-operation with executive producer and co-writer Chris Jones since 2003. Lisa Nimmo and Shelley Hirini are about to complete their debut album 'No Ordinary Day', due for release July 10. "We needed approval from the BBC to use some news audio clippings in one of the singles on the album 'Life is Beautiful'. The BBC refused to grant approval, citing that the use of the clips in our song would be 'too political' "This was very disappointing for us. The song is about noticing, appreciating and respecting the beauty in our world. The clips helped to communicate that message in a powerful way - which surely is a positive thing, " says Lisa. Pearl began as an acoustic duo, winning the Wellington Firewaters songwriting competition in 2003.
