| Rabih Abou-Khalil & the BBC Concert Orchestra at the QEH Lebanese oud player and composer Rabih Abou-Khalil will play Wednesday 10 May 2006 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra (Robert Ziegler conductor) and Jarrod Cagwin - drums, Michel Godard - tuba, Gavino Murgia - vocals. The witty, inventive, multi-award-winning Lebanese musicianl has been creating his own unique contemporary cosmos of sound since the early 1980s. His music simply oozes with graceful dance melodies as he paints surreal landscapes of Occidental and Oriental beauty. Abou-Khalil's latest venture is probably his most elaborate and adventurous to date, as he joins forces with the ever-versatile BBC Concert Orchestra and three virtuoso collaborators: the astounding French tuba player Michel Godard, the artful American percussionist Jarrod Cagwin and the remarkable Sardinian throat singer Gavino Murgia. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
