| Chris Cotton's Concert Tour Cotton is a dynamic roots blues singer/guitarist, reworked the American roots traditions ranging from Piedmont and hill-country blues to string band, jug band, and Americana styles. The past year has been an eventful one for Cotton as he was nominated for Artist of the Year in BluesWax magazine's readers poll, and is featured with a profile article in the upcoming issue of Blues Revue magazine as one of "Ten Artists to Watch." The April/May tour by Cotton will take him through fourteen states in five weeks – from his west-coast base of San Francisco to the east coast of Florida and back. Details of each appearance are available on Chris' Myspace site, www.myspace.com/cottonchris. The tour will support "I Watched the Devil Die", Cotton's debut album release for Yellow Dog Records. "I Watched the Devil Die" garnered widespread recognition in national media ranging from from Living Blues to the San Francisco Chronicle. Blues Bytes called it "one of the most amazing releases of the year, " while it was nominated for Album of the Year in BluesWax magazine's readers poll, and was featured as one of "10 Best Modern Blues Albums" by noted critic Hugh Fielder in Music Mart magazine. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
