| HIM's North America Concert Tour Finnish Quintet HIM's last tour of the states was a sold out affair. Now the Fins will return to North America for a highly anticipated two-month swing beginning May 2, taking on unchartered cities and venues in support of their Sire Records debut "Dark Light." HIM performances are breeding a movement not unlike the fanaticism that Depeche Mode experienced in their early 90s heyday. HIM's diverse and atmospheric sound spans farther than your average "rock" band. "Dark Light" is gothic, rocking, and melodic; it's classic HIM. In regards to the album's opening track, "Vampire Heat, " the Washington Post said, "The sweeping tune is closer to U2 than to Iron Maiden, and its buoyancy is characteristic of the album." After conquering the world with chart-topping albums and sold-out tours, HIM is undoubtedly the band to follow closely as they win over American hearts and minds with their hauntingly beautiful sound. They will be a hot act at this year's KROQ Weenie Roast as well as Sasquatch! and Bamboozle. Also, catch HIM in New York City from May 8 - 10 for three press days. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
