Starting Anew, Jeanette Harris Band is Soulful as Ever

The Jeanette Harris Band has been thrilling audiences with an energetic style of Smooth Jazz for the past 4 years and is now a free agent. Having performed for raucous audiences around the U.S. at venues like the Hollywood Park, Fresno-Chinatown, and New Orleans jazz festivals, band members want to get back to basics and reconnect with their most loyal fans as they continue to gain popularity.

Jeanette Harris, whose style of playing the lead alto saxophone has been compared to the late Grover Washington Jr., is excited about this new opportunity. We will now be able to play more venues, stay true to our originally soulful sound, and work with even more exciting artists. The Jeanette Harris Band has already performed with or opened for accomplished musicians such as the Rippingtons, Phil Perry, Najee, and Kirk Whalum.

Jeanette, who was recognized as a Shooting Star and nominated for Best Jazz Instrumentalist by the L.A. Black Music Awards, is not only committed to producing great music, but also giving back to the community. "After graduating from Berklee College in Boston, I realized how much music helped me to get through school and offered me the opportunity to go to college. Music created my window of opportunity, so I am passionate about ensuring that music programs stay available in our schools."

The Jeanette Harris Band has ambitious plans over the next few months. They will be performing at B.B. King's Club and Restaurant on the Universal City Walk in Los Angeles on May 6th at 9 p.m. On May 19th the band will perform at Shanghai 1930 in San Francisco and follow up that performance with two June events in San Diego. The band continues working as hard as ever, establishing their official website at www.jeanetteharrisband.com. Later this year, they plan to tour their hometown of Fresno, fan bases in L.A. and Sacramento, as well as a number of other West Coast cities.
