Image Entertainment, Inc. today announced the June 20, 2006 release of "Austin City Limits Music Festival 2005" on DVD and CD. Winning Pollstar's "Festival of the Year" award, "Austin City Limits Music Festival 2005" perfected the concert concept in both talent and patron experience. The CD and DVD will both be released as special edition 2-disc sets featuring highlights from the 2005 Austin City Limits Music Festival, with DVD Disc 1's performances mixed in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.

DVD Disc 1 contains 111 minutes of live performances from the festival's typically diverse roster: Jet, The Allman Brothers Band, The Bravery, Thievery Corporation, The Black Keys, Kasabian, Bloc Party, The Frames, Kaiser Chiefs, Blues Traveler, Ambulance LTD, Eisley, The Decemberists, Jason Mraz, Mike Doughty, Aqualung, Keane, Rachael Yamagata, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle and the Dukes, Gov't Mule, John Prine, Widespread Panic, and a bonus track from John Butler Trio.

DVD Disc 2 is devoted entirely to special features, including candid interviews with fourteen of the featured artists and four mini-documentaries: Bradley Beesley's "Ambulance LTD ACLMF 2005, " "Voices from Within" (featuring Blues Traveler; directed by Dan Shaw), "214 Circle Drive" (featuring Ruthie Foster; directed by Margaret Brown), and "Roky Erickson, " Kyle Ellison's portrait of Austin's own father of psychedelia.

Artfully unpolished Disc 2 bonus footage includes a time lapse view in "3 Days in 2 Minutes"; "Inside the Gates, " ACL Festival fans' unedited musings; "Allman Brothers Band Bus Tour"; expression through dance in "Movin' and Shakin'"; and "ACL Raw, " which features candid performances from Jason Mraz and Rachael Yamagata, South Austin Jug Band, Zap Mama, and a beyond-their-years track from the Palm Elementary School Choir, among others. A 2005 festival photo gallery is also included.
