| Michael Buble Dominates Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards by Cindy McLeod Crooner Michael Buble was a big winner at Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards April 7th, when he picked up three Awards at the second annual ceremony in Toronto. Buble, who also won 4 Juno Awards last week, took home "Male Vocalist of the Year, ", "Album of the Year" and "Socan Best Original Composition" for his huge hit "Home." Jesse Cook picked up the "Guitarist of the Year" award while Carol Welsman was named top "Keyboardist of the Year." Molly Johnson received the "Female Vocalist of the Year" and the Clayton/Scott Group winner of the "Group of the Year" for the second year running. The "Wind Instrumentalist of Year" category was tied, with the Award going to both Alexander Zonjic, who hosted the ceremony, and Warren Hill. Chris Botti was named "International Artist of the Year" and Smooth Jazz broadcaster Bob Farrow of the Wave 94.7 won "Broadcaster of the Year." Legendary keyboardist Bob James was honored with the "George Benson Lifetime Achievement Award" and performed at the ceremony.
