Traditional Jazz from Sarah Morrow

A fun evening of traditional jazz music featuring the Sarah Morrow Quartet will take place at the Rockport Art Association, May 12th. Trombonist Sarah Morrow, an American living in Paris (lead member of the American Allstars in Paris), will visit Rockport for an evening concert coming from her appearance at the Mary Lou Williams, Woman in Jazz Festival, at the Washington DC Kennedy Center. She will be joined by band members Bobby Floyd - piano, Peter Giron - bass, and Steve Williams - drummer of late jazz vocalist Shirley Horn.

Sarah Morrow holds the distinction of having been the first woman instrumentalist to tour with the Ray Charles Orchestra. She has also worked with artist such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, David Murray and French vocalist Anne Ducros as well as appearing at Jazz in Marciac, the Nice Jazz Festival, Paris JVC Jazz Festival, and the Strasbourgh Music Festival. Last October, Sarah received the 2005 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival Rising Star Award.
