| ’Help Us Help Tibet’ Benefit Concert "Help Us Help Tibet Benefit Concert" - this event will be Thursday April 20th in the La Salle University Ballroom, 1900 West Olney Avenue, Philadelphia PA. This show will benefit two non-profit organizations: Students for a Free Tibet and the Guchusum Movement. Guchusum provides medical care to Tibetan monks living in exile in India. It is recognized and supported in part by the Dalai Lama. President of the Tibetan Association, Tenzin Tsultrim, will present and translate for keynote speaker, Lhundup. Lhundup is a former political prisoner who in 1988 took part in a peaceful protest that led to his imprisonment, torture and eventual exile. John Francis and Melody Gardot will perform at this concert. John Francis is a folk/rock artist with an impressive resume of appearances at both the Apple Farm Arts Festival and the Philadelphia Folk Festival.
