Rainbow Band Makes Annual Spring Concert

The Berklee College of Music Rainbow Band with his conductor Phil Wilson will give its annual spring concert on Thursday, April 13, at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston.

Twenty-five instrumentalists and one vocalist perform in the Rainbow Band. Some call Israel, Australia, Korea, and Portugal home; others are from Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Boston. The concert will include songs from Victor Young, Cole Porter, Dizzy Gillespie, and Wilson.

Under director of Wilson, the Rainbow Band has been a starting point for the careers of some of the best known jazz players of our time: Roy Hargrove, Alan Broadbent, Terri Lynn Carrington, Abe Laborial, Sr., and John Scofield.
