| Sunfest 2006 Confirms Mary Washington Brooks Mary Washington Brooks, The Fort Lauderdale Blues Diva will bring her " Man Drawing Power" to the Sunfest in West Palm Beach Fl., on May 7th, 2006. Mary in fact will "Rock Your World" on the Real Yellow Pages stage with one of the hottest, hard hitting Blues bands in South Florida lead by guitarist great "Bobby Nathan". Every member of the band comes with high credentials and whole lot of talent, ready to just flat out play the blues and get down. Washington Brooks was last seen at the 2006 Riverwalk Blues Festival in Fort Lauderdale where she didn't waste any time getting right down into the pure funk of the blues and getting the diehard blues fans something to dance about in the 48 degree weather that rolled in overnight on Saturday and something to shake the cold off. Many fans are still e-mailing her from as far away as Germany to tell her what a great time they had getting up close and personal with her group and just enjoying the blues with her at the show. Do expect Washington-Brooks to pull tunes from her CD "Rock Your World" such as 'Meet Me With Your Red Drawers On" And " I Can't Be Your Booty Call", she will also pull some old favorites out of the hat like "Ball and Chain" by the late great Big Mamma Thornton, one of her all time favorite blues singers and "Wild thing" By Denise Laselle, this will be a show you want soon forget. On May 28th, 2006 also look for Mary at the second annual South Florida Blues Society "Blues Diva Showcase" being held at Cheers in Pompano Beach Fl.. Cheers is a fun nightspot and restaurant where you can really get up close and person and have a great time listening to some of the best female Blues singers South Florida has to offer plus the food is really good and the patrons friendly.
