| Bob Reynolds at Jazz Standard Saxophonist/Composer Bob Reynolds celebrates the release of his Fresh Sound New Talent debut CD Can't Wait For Perfect at the Jazz Standard, New York City, April 5th, 2006. Bob Reynolds's debut CD on the label that first introduced Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and The Bad Plus features 10 original compositions performed by some of today's finest young jazz musicians and introduces a bold new voice in jazz. His writing seamlessly blends complex ideas with singable melodies and infectious grooves resulting in music that is both intellectually interesting and emotionally satisfying. The 28-year-old saxophonist, composer, and Berklee College of Music graduate has forged a unique path since arriving in New York five years ago. Although he's performed with Brian Blade and recorded with Tom Harrell, he's also recorded and toured with singer-songwriter Nellie McKay, performed with pop star Jessica Simpson and country legend Willie Nelson, been in a rock band for 6 years and scored a couple of short films. Recently, jazz superstar Joshua Redman began incorporating one of Reynolds' tunes into his Elastic Band's repertoire. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
