| Jimi Tenor plays Mister Freedom Friday 24 March 2006 Jimi Tenor will play at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, UK.Electrofunk visionary Jimi Tenor and his big band present his score to the 1968 William Klein film Mr Freedom. The movie was a pop art parody of US imperialist strategy in which Mr Freedom, a pro-America superhero, fights for God and country by beating, robbing, raping and killing anyone who disagrees with him. When he hears that France is in danger of falling to the communists, Mr Freedom heads overseas to set things right. But the welcome he receives isn't quite as warm as he expected, so he gives up hope of steering the French away from the Reds and decides to salvage what he can by destroying the country. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
