| Billy Harper Quintet at 7th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival The Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium presents its 7th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival from March 29 till April 30, 2006. The Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium recognizes the importance of the music to a culture of a people and has drafted a paradigm Jazz: A Music Of The Spirit to produce our music. The 7th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival begins with the Opening Day Gala on Wednesday, March 29 with the Billy Harper Quintet Francesca Tanksley (piano), Clarence Seay (bass), Newman Taylor Baker (drums), Keyon Harrold (trumpet), Billy Harper (sax) & special guest vocalist Judy Bady. Mr. Harper's unique musical creativity with its patterns of spiritual growth and innovations will give the audience a sound for Jazz: A Music Of The Spirit. Billy Harper has performed, recorded and toured with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Thad Jones, Gil Evans, Lee Morgan and Max Roach. This show is a rare live performance by the Billy Harper Quintet in New York City.
