| Thredbo Jazz Festival, Mt Kosciusko, Australia The fun-filled Yalumba 19th Thredbo Jazz Festival is on again and will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 5-7 2006. The program of bands and musicians include: Viva The Band, Michelle Nicolle Quartet (Vic), George Washingmachine, Paul Furniss, Society Syncopators [Vic], Armondo Hurley & The Funk-O-Matics, Carol Ralph's Blue Flames, The Moods, Eric Ajaye Trio [ACT], Shirley Smith's Soul Explosion, John Harkins Trio, RAAF Big Band, Bogalusa Strutters, Paul Dion Quartet, Marty Mooney, The Wizard & Oz, Mike Price Trio [ACT], Kirrawee High Big Band, Psycho Zydeco, Exposed Bone, Canberra School of Music Commercial Ensemble [ACT] and Down South Quartet. Special roving guests include: Paul Furniss, Dan Barnett, Warwick Alder, Marty Mooney, Adrian Cunningham and John Pochee. The festival will offer jazz and music lovers an action-packed weekend of terrific music, great food, friendly times and toe-tapping entertainment, all set against a spectacular backdrop of the famous Snowy Mountains. This is a great opportunity to share an evening at a boutique restaurant with your favourite band performing. Last year Viva the band were a hit, delighting patrons with romantic French and Spanish songs mixed with Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Salsa and Latin music. They were hugely popular at the Credo, The Terrace and Eagles Nest restaurant.
