| Boom Boom Satellites at M3’s Remix Hotel party Boom Boom Satellites, the Japanese duo, Nakano Masayuki and Kawashima Michiyuki, will be performing songs from their first ever US album release in seven years, “Full of Elevating Pleasures, ” at M3’s Remix Hotel party at the National in Miami Beach on Wednesday March 22nd, 2006. Boom Boom Satellites first surfaced in Europe during 1997. By integrating electronic and rock elements they began to create pioneering music have now become one of the most distinguished producers in Japan. Their mission has always been to philosophically pursue the spiritual world. Being both physical and untamed, their successful sound is virtually the most exquisite blend between the roughness of rock and electronic elements; think the Chemical Brothers meets the Prodigy. Then, in 1998 Boom Boom Satellites traveled across Europe, where they performed at six major rock festivals and began a European tour with Underworld. >From there, they returned to Japan to release “Outloud, ” their first album, in October of that year. Not only have they had successful album releases such as “Umbra” and “Photon, ” they’ve also received many remix requests from artists such as Garbage and Josh Wink. These two unstoppable rock-stars also toured around the US for 3 months with Moby, as well as other live performances at various festivals in Japan including the Fuji Rock Festival. Other projects that this multi-talented rock duo have done are soundtracks for films such as “Yamakashi” directed by Luc Besson as well as the anime film “Appleseed” that was written by Masamune Shiro. Boom Boom Satellites have continuously kept themselves busy. “We made a guest appearance on the recent Prodigy Japan Tour at Nagoya ZEPP on February 13th, 2006 and Osaka ZEPP on the February 14th, 2006. It was hard for us to focus as it was our first gig of the year and the first ever gig with the Prodigy.” write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
