| 2006 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony For over 20 years the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has honored musical artists across all genres for their contribution to the music industry. Now fans of Black Sabbath, Blondie, Miles Davis, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Sex Pistols can watch as this group of artists become united in music history when they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The "2006 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony" will take place at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on March 13, for debut on VH1 Tuesday, March 21. This year's show will honor heavy metal innovators, Black Sabbath, new wave rock band Blondie, jazz legend and creative genius Miles Davis, Southern Rock mainstays Lynyrd Skynyrd and British punk pioneers, the Sex Pistols. Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, founders of A&M records will be inducted in the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Non-Performer category. Presenters and special guests will be announced as they are confirmed.
