Words alone can't express the impact Grammy Lifetime Achievement-awardee Sonny Rollins has had on music. At 75, he's taken the tenor saxophone to places it has never gone and is the last of his generation worthy of a place in the pantheon of jazz history along with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and John Coltrane. On record his music is magnificent and transporting; in concert it becomes an exquisite and intoxicating journey into a sound full of texture, melodic desire and emotion that will leave you forever changed.
