| Taking Back Sunday Spring Tour On the heels of a string of Sold Out UK tour dates, melodic hardcore rock band Taking Back Sunday announced today they will tour the US prior to the release of their Warner Bros. Records debut and third studio album, Louder Now, due out April 25th. The House of Blues presented, Hot Topic sponsored tour hits smaller, intimate venues, highlighting the band's desire to feel a closeness and share new material with their fans. The tour kicks off in Boulder, Colorado on March 31st at the Boulder Theatre. "It's really exciting to go out and play our new songs in smaller venues, " states bassist Matt Rubano. "We just played some shows in England and the response was intense. Our last tour in the US was incredible. We couldn't believe we were playing in arenas. As exciting as that was, we are just as excited to start off in a more intimate environment to kick off Louder Now." Since roaring onto the scene with their 2002 debut, Tell All Your Friends, the New York-based quintet -- which now includes lead vocalist Adam Lazarra, guitarist-vocalist Fred Mascherino, guitarist Eddie Reyes, bassist Matt Rubano, and drummer Mark O'Connell -- have captivated fans with their powerful and inventive pop-tinged anthems, dueling vocals and twin guitar assault. In July 2004, the band followed up the half-million selling Friends with Where You Want to Be, which debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Top 200 and sold more than 163, 000 copies its first week out. Both albums have since been certified gold and sold upwards of 700, 000. "We're excited to be presenting Taking Back Sunday's spring tour, " said Elyse Rogers, Senior Manager, HOB Touring. "Taking Back Sunday are really connected with their fans and wanted to do something special for them for this record release tour. This small club run will be an amazing experience for their diehard fans before they come back through and blow out the big tour later in the year." write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
