| Wycliffe Gordon to perform at All Souls Unitarian Church Trombonist Wycliffe Gordon will be featured in an evening jazz and poetry meditation on Sunday, February 12 at All Souls Unitarian Church, NYC. Wycliffe Gordon has an extraordinarily diverse career as performer, conductor, composer, arranger, and educator, receiving high praise from audiences and critics alike. Gordon tours the world performing hard-swinging, straight-ahead jazz for audiences ranging from heads of state to elementary school students. His trombone playing has been universally hailed by jazz critics: he has received the Jazz Journalists' Association Award for Trombonist of the Year, the Jazz Journalists Association Critics' Choice Award for Best Trombone, among others. Gordon leads his own quartet in performances around the country and throughout the world. A frequent performer with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Gordon will lead “Crescent City Gospel, ” a series of concerts in May 2006 at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
