| Karmina Serenades Guests With Soulful Sounds The “Soulful Sounds” series unites the musical talents of up-and-coming entertainers from across Canada and the United States in the balmy, tropical atmosphere of Manzanillo. Starting in late November, the sultry sounds of Toronto jazz trumpeter Danny DePoe will return to Karmina Palace for a second year in a row. This year DePoe oversees an eclectic and acclaimed group of rising stars who will provide nightly jazz, acoustic, soft rock and folk music entertainment in two-week slots from November 2005 to April 2006 at the luxury all-suite, all-inclusive property. Karmina Palace provides the ideal venue to showcase their talents in the outdoor stages, intimate up-close-and-personal Trattoria bistro, open air Carioca dining room overlooking the bay, and the air-conditioned lobby bar where crooners serenade guests as they sample exotic concoctions from the extensive all-inclusive bar menu of national and premium brands. “Soulful Sounds” series guest artists include: Toronto, Ontario folk/rock guitarist with jazz influences and winner of 2005 CBC Galaxie rising star award Peter Katz ; Vancouver, BC-based acoustic guitarist and singer Marnie Mains (www.marniemains.com); Adrianne Gonzalez of Los Angeles, CA, a folk/rock guitarist with a haunting voice who was one of 50 finalists in the Coca-Cola New Music Award competition, and won a $24, 000 prize in the USA Songwriting Competition for “Say “Em Strong”; soft reggae and folk rock guitarist/singer Dylan Murray , who is Toronto-born and has a single out in Jamaica; and Halifax, Nova Scotia native and jazz vocalist Hazel Walker who pairs with Toronto pianist Graham Howes.
