Sutton Coldfield St Valentine's Charity Folk Festival

Over 60 bands and performers from all over the United Kingdom will converge on Sutton Coldfield between 16-19 February 2006 for the fourth annual St Valentine's Charity Folk Festival in aid of NCH, the children's charity.

This year's festival will provide an entertaining mix of folk, skiffle, blues, indie, Celtic, dance, stories and poetry. The main venue will be the Sutton Coldfield Arts Centre in South Parade.

The charity festival, organised by Sutton Park Amblers and sponsored by Folk Monthly, has already raised over £6, 700 for leading children's charity NCH over the past three years.

Organiser Bob Lines from Sutton Coldfield said: "This year's festival is set to be better than ever. The number of professional artists attending continues to grow and, as the event has sold out in previous years, we are hoping for a great attendance which will boost a fantastic cause."

Claire Morris, NCH Regional Fundraising Manager, said: "I'd like to encourage people to book 16-19 February into their diaries and come along to this brilliant event. It's a chance to hear some great music and at the same time support work that is making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable and underprivileged children and their families in the local area."

NCH, formerly known as National Children's Homes, runs over 500 projects for the UK's most vulnerable children, young people and their families, and supports over 140, 000 people. Its local centres include Tudor Close in Sutton Coldfield, which provides a safe and homely environment for children and young people with severe learning difficulties.
