| Bangla-Beat at the Queen Elizabeth Hall Asia House showcases a funky fusion of traditional and contemporary Bangladeshi music at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on Monday 13 March 2006. The concert explores the musical roots of Bangladesh from the sounds of the homelands through to contemporary world fusion. Rob Fakir and Shajahan Munshi play traditional Lalon and Baul music found in the shantytowns and melas of Bangladesh. Ektaar All Stars, led by Ornob represents the new generation of Bangladeshi musicians with a contemporary urban approach to Bangladesh's musical heritage. The lead singer Ornob, is one of Bangladesh's most creative and multi-talented stars. Kishon Khan's international world fusion project Lokkhi Terra, mixes Bengali folk with other world traditions from Cuban rumba to Nigerian Afro-beat, representing a British-Bangladeshi approach to this heritage.
