| Kirk Whalum Celebrates Love Jazz musician / songwriter Kirk Whalum who recently renewed his vows with wife Ruby after 25 years of marriage, will perform four concerts for Valentine's Day in celebration of romance and eternal love ... and he gets to celebrate with his fans. Kirk will be performing songs from his current chart-topping album "Kirk Whalum Performs the Babyface Songbook." A multi-city contest gives Kirk's fans a chance to fall in love all over again by "renewing their love" onstage while being serenaded by Kirk Whalum. Contestants are required to write a letter to Kirk explaining why they want to renew their love. The local jazz radio station in each market will have its own contest in place, selecting one lucky couple to "renew their love" onstage with Kirk. In San Francisco there will be two couples; one selected from the local radio station promotion and the chosen winners from the Sirius Radio online contest who will be flown in by Rendezvous Entertainment. Sirius Radio will go live on Friday, January 27 with a weekend broadcast and its online contest. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
