| For Ella: A Musical Tribute To Ella Fitzgerald On Friday, February 10, 2006 Patti Austin & the Count Basie Orchestra will perform "For Ella: A Musical Tribute to the Legendary Ella Fitzgerald" at Carnegie Hall to raise funds for Building With Books and the New York Therapeutic Riding Centers as part of The Whiteweld Foundation Concert Series. The Mission of Building With Books is to empower youth in the U.S. to make a positive difference both locally and globally while helping people from developing countries increase their self-reliance through education. Building With Books fulfills its mission through two inter-connected program areas: an after school youth development program in 76 U.S. high Schools and a schoolhouse construction program that built 143 schools in developing countries around the world. BwB engages U.S. program members in three core activities: community service, sponsorship, and global education.
