| Mark O'Leary new Leo release, Closure  New release on Leo records, Closure featuring Mark O'Leary on guitar, Uri Caine Piano and Ben Perowsky Drums. There has been a marked increase of interest in gifted, Irish-born guitarist Mark O'Leary following his recent Leo albums, which have included collaborations with Matthew Shipp, Mat Maneri, Billy Hart and Thomas Stanko. The resulting press and radio coverage will certainly only be further enhanced by this new album with the eclectic US pianist and acclaimed Winter & Winter recording artist, Uri Caine - and drummer Ben Perowsky. A dynamic, fluid, inventive musical meeting.Mark O'Leary was born in Cork City Ireland.Being mainly self thought on guitar he moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to study at Musicians Institute,from where he later graduated. He has performed in over 20 different countries and has played at some of the worlds top Jazz festivals and contemporary Jazz venues. He has toured Europe as a member of Canadian Piano innovator Paul Bleys trio,he has performed in duo with Jack DeJohnette, in a jazz trio with Yes/King Crimson drummer Bill Bruford, with fretless bass virtuoso Michael Manring,composed and performed classical music with Cikada string quartet, collaborated in an all electronics setting with Sound Artist Gunter Muller, in a free improvisation combo with Sunny Murray, peroformed in concerts with Bobo Stenson, played Norwegian folk music with Nils Okland, Swedish folk music with Mats Eden, contemporary Jazz with Uri Caine,he has performed in seperate projects with trumpeters Tomasz Stanko, Kenny Wheeler and Cuong Vu.
