| Jewel and Alice Atlantic recording artist Jewel has wrapped up work on her eagerly awaited new album. Entitled "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland, " the studio set is slated for release on May 2nd. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls) and Jewel, this marks her first album in three years and her sixth since making her recording debut in 1995. For the first time in her career, Jewel has created a special sneak preview for her fans -- in the form of a uniquely personal, homemade video of the title track, "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland." Jewel is making the clip available exclusively via the Internet, beginning with its premiere on her fan club website, www.jewelunedited.com, next Wednesday, January 25th. It can then be seen on her main public site, www.jeweljk.com, beginning Monday, January 30th, and will go wide on an array of online destinations on Monday, February 6th. The captivating "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland" video was shot spontaneously during a recent Jewel photo session with acclaimed Montana-based photographer Kurt Markus. Filmed on Jewel's Texas ranch, the homegrown clip beautifully reflects both the song's organic, intimate sound and its powerfully autobiographical story. The first official single from "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland" is entitled "Again And Again." It is slated to impact mainstream radio outlets across the country on February 27th. An accomplished and world-renowned singer, songwriter, poet, and painter, Jewel has continued to explore fresh musical avenues, branching out from her folk roots to incorporate rock, pop, country, blues, jazz, and classical influences into her work. 2005 marked the tenth anniversary of the release of Jewel's landmark debut album, "Pieces Of You" "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland" follows 2003's "0304, " which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, simultaneously becoming both the highest-debuting and highest-charting album of her career to date, while also marking her fourth album to hit the top ten on the national charts. "0304" included the top five hit single "Intuition." To date, Jewel has sold over 25 million albums worldwide, enjoying a career longevity rare among her generation of artists. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
