| Hidden Beach Recordings Celebrates the MLK Holiday In honor of the upcoming celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday Monday, January 16, 2006, and extending through the month of February as part of the celebration of Black History, Hidden Beach Recordings (the lifestyle-brand, independent record label which is home to the neo-soul vocalist Jill Scott, stellar jazz saxophonist Mike Phillips, solo artists Darius Rucker, Lina, the Unwrapped band franchise, and husband-wife duo Kindred The Family Soul), has launched a special radio initiative which will feature the BeBe Winans' I Have A Dream. I Have A Dream appeared on Winans' critically-acclaimed 2005 release and recently Grammy-nominated full-length album Dream, and utilizes the esteemed Civil Rights leader's voice as heard in his historic and seminal "I Have A Dream" speech, and combines it with music composed by BeBe Winans. This six-week long initiative (January 16th through February 28th) is spearheaded by music industry veteran Jheryl Busby (former CEO of Motown Records and president of Dreamworks' urban music division) and Ruben Rodriguez of Ruben Rodriguez Entertainment, Inc. It will include special broadcasts of Winans' I Have A Dream via numerous radio stations across the United States, including XM Satellite Radio, Radio One and The Tom Joyner Morning Show. This radio initiative was launched in 2005 and garnered an estimated 10 million-plus listeners. This year, Hidden Beach Recordings estimates that Winans' I Have A Dream will be heard by more than 100 million listeners during this six-week period. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
