| Jazz Education for All Generations! Jazz at Lincoln Center welcomes back the popular adult education program Jazz Talk, to the organization's home, Frederick P. Rose Hall. Jazz Talk: Jazz in a Hip-Hop Generation, ideal for jazz aficionados and students, explores the cultural and the political relationship between jazz and hip-hop. The talk features hip-hop great Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson (The Roots drummer), The Roots executive producer Richard Nichols, Farah J. Griffin, who is the director of Columbia University's Institute for Research in African-American Studies and jazz pianist Robert Glasper. The talk takes place on February 1, 2006 in the Irene Diamond Education Center at 7pm. Jazz for Young PeopleSM: Who is Count Basie? hosted by Wynton Marsalis, shows students and families the meaning of 4/4 swing as our own Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra heats up the stage teaching young students about the Count from Red Bank. These live performances combine narration and music, inviting audience participation.
