| 2006 Porretta Soul Festival The 2006 Porretta Soul Festival will have a great selection of performers. Memphis will be represented, in cooperation with Stax Museum of American Soul Music, by performances of the Bar-kays, Shirley Brown, J.Balckfoot, the Soul Children and the Memphis Horns. The Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas and the young phenomenon, the heir of Dr. John, Davell Crawford will be on stage to represent New Orleans. The new edition will also feature a night dedicated to the new European voices of Soul Music. Porretta Terme, Italy is a little town located in the middle between Bologna and Florence on the road Porrettana also called ss64 (state street number 64). Porretta lies in Tuscan-Emilian Apennines at 400 meters on the level of the sea with wonderful natural surrounding of beech, pine and chestnut’s woods. Porretta is also famous for its spa and thermal spring with water property renowned all around the world. Yet in ancient times Romans and Etruscans were used to take advantage from its thermal water as well as contemporary artists and intellectual men.
