Brenda Wyche launches new web site

Brenda Wyche of Music in the Key of Love launches new web site at www.longlivethemusic.com in commemoration of Grammy Award winning composer, Sid Wyche. Music in the Key of Love is an initiative to keep traditional jazz, blues and classical music alive by educating our young.

The project will give youth free access to a recording studio and other resources, to help them cultivate their creative abilities. In return, they will be required to learn to read music, learn to play an instrument of their choice and study the theory of traditional music.

Students will also be required to take short classes dedicated to general music law. We want to give these kids an education on how and where the money goes and what they can and cannot do as artists, musicians and hopefully, music business men and women.

It will help to broaden their horizons and let them know that the industry is larger than the image set in front of them, which is just singing and dancing and bling-bling, which even includes image-makers.

Research has shown that musical study develops critical thinking and self discipline skills and improves a child's early cognitive development, basic math and reading abilities, self-esteem, SAT scores, ability to work in teams, spatial reasoning skills, and school attendance.

Also, researchers have found that children involved with music education are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college, and are less likely to be involved with gangs and substance abuse." VH1 Save the Music Foundation

There will be no auditioning for acceptance into this program. No one will be accepted or rejected based on their caliber of talent. However, children and youth will be required to pass all subjects in school and maintain a B average to be accepted and remain in the program.
