JazzMN Big Band in 'Jazz Writing at Its Best'

Grammy-winning composer-arranger Bob Florence will be the guest artist with the JazzMN Big Band in "Jazz Writing at Its Best" on Saturday, January 21, 2006under the direction of Dr. Douglas Snapp at the Hopkins High School Performing Arts Center, 2400 Lindbergh Drive, one half-mile off Highway 169, west on Cedar Lake Road.

The program will open with the Count Basie classic In A Mellow Tone, the New York Voices arrangement of Smack Dab in the Middle, the exciting salsa Rompe Cabeza, and closes the first half with Gordon Goodwin's Jazz Police (similar to Peter Gunn).
