| Lemme to Entertain Troops in Asian Rim National recording artist Lemme (pronounced lem meeh) will bring her brand of sultry, funky and jazzy sounds to our troops in Guam, Korea, Okinawa and Japan from December 29, 2005 to January 23, 2006. Lemme was selected from among hundreds of bands nationally to perform for our troops. This tour is sponsored by Captain Trevor Garrett, Armed Forces Entertainment and Dwight Mims, Media Business Concepts. "I am excited to bring my music to those who keep us safe and also give them a little taste of home, " Lemme said. "I think it is important to remember our soldiers who are away from their loved ones during the holiday season." The members of Lemme's band are all from the greater Washington, DC metro area. Lemme's inaugural CD project on the DE-U Record label entitled, "Take The Time" recently debuted to rave reviews. Her music is described as a mix of new school funk and old school rhythm and blues with flavorings of jazz thrown in. She has wowed crowds along the eastern seaboard and is now ready to take her sound to the rest of the world. Lemme honed her skills over the years working with various bands and has performed in several stage productions as well. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Jazz News :: home page |
