Charmaine Clamor CD release party tour opens at Catalina's

by Ron Sagye La Rue

FreeHam records recording artist Vocalist, Charmaine Clamor opened her CD release(Searching For The Soul) tour party at Catalina's Bar&Grill in Hollywood, on November 29th. To what appeared to be a full house. Coming on stage with a floor length deep blue gown, opened her set with"I'm In The Mood For Love" moving on including "My Romance" where she did some light scatting. The third song of the evening was"Since I Fell For You". In between songs she talked to the audience and thanked them for coming out. And mentioned that she was a little nervous, but you sure couldn't tell. She sang each song with confidence and much grace.

On "You and I" Charmaine was joined on stage by its composer/ guitarist Mr. Z who has his own CD on FreeHam. This song has a happy bouncy feeling. A song not on the CD was a Kundiman (Filipino)love song "Dahil Sayo" a beautiful duet with guitarist Richard Ickard. "Neither One Of Us" brought on much applause. Vocalist Michael Konik (member of vocal quintet Crescendo as Charmaine is) sang with her--in fact he initially opened the evening with his Tasty Band singing a few standards "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans", "Time AfterTime" Your My Centerpiece"etc. But the night definitely belonged to Charmaine Clamor! After the show Charmaine told me: I'm surprised that so many people came out on a Tuesday". There was also a show Dec. 4th at The Triple Door in Seattle, Washington the American state.

After the show many fans lined-up to get personally autographed copies of "Searching For The Soul". Some purchased more than one copy. There are other dates in the Philippines particularly January 20, 2006 in Manila at the 19 East Jazz Club.
