| Local Groups at 2006 The San Sebastian Jazz Festival The San Sebastian Jazz Festival – Donostiako Jazzaldia will include 10 local jazz groups in its program for the Heineken 41. Jazzaldia to take place between July 21 to 26, 2006. The Jazzaldia has always had a place for local bands, picking among those that simply present a proposition and even promoting new projects such as Iñaki Salvador’s Zilbor Hestea and Gonzalo Tejada’s Ziklo 1 and Ziklo 2. During the past years there has been a more consistent collaboration between the Jazz Festival and local music schools such as the Municipal School of Dance and Music and Musikene, which has led to a higher number of groups in the Jazzaldia totalling a number of ten in the latest edition. The organization of the Jazzaldia wants to give more opportunities to more local bands so they can show their quality and play not only at the Festival but also at previous concerts where a selection will take place. To select the 10 groups 15 will be picked among those that simply fulfil the following conditions: At least 33% of the line up should be of Basque musicians and the band should submit at least three taped songs.
