Music/Audio at Macworld San Francisco

IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced that music and audio will be a strong focus at Macworld Conference & Expo(R), taking place January 9-13, 2006 at San Francisco's Moscone Center. Macworld will showcase Mac music education, several music-related exhibitors, the Berklee Dream Studio, a podcasting stage and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus - a state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio.

Dream Studio

In a new Exhibit Hall feature at Macworld San Francisco, the Berklee College of Music will present the Dream Studio, a state-of-the-art music studio filled with Mac hardware and software ready to bring your musical visions to life. This attraction will also feature a self-guided tour, music production demonstrations and daily lectures by Berklee faculty. Open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.

Mac Music and Audio Education

Several Mac/music-related educational sessions will take place during Macworld, including:

-- Power Tools Conference: "Mastering Logic" guides participants through the complete music production process using Logic, the powerful music production tool from Apple. Two full days of in-depth training by David Mash of the Berklee College of Music.

-- Market Symposium: "Podcasters" provides a full day of education as the podcasting industry leaders discuss their thoughts and experiences of riding this newest wave of Internet opportunity.

-- Taste of the Conference: "GarageBand 101" explains what it takes to record your own songs with GarageBand. Open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.

-- Taste of the Conference: "The iPod Revealed" Macworld magazine's Chris Breen reveals many of the hidden talents of Apple's amazing iPod. Open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.

-- Feature Presentation: "The Podcast Economy, " Industry luminary Chris Pirillo presents his insights on the rise of the Podcasting phenomenon. Open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a unique non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio. Attendees can learn how artists like the Black Eyed Peas have used the bus to work with students and record their own hit music with the products and solutions found on board. The bus features professional tools including Logic, Reason, Final Cut Pro, Live 5 and the iGuitar. On January 10, jazz artist Joshua Redman will talk about his process for making music on a Mac and will work with student visitors on an original jazz composition and video. Open to all Exhibit Hall Attendees.

Podcasting Stage

In a new Exhibit Hall feature, attendees can listen to some of the industry's leading podcasters as they conduct live interviews from the floor of Macworld. Open to all Exhibit Hall Attendees.

Macworld Auto Show

The Macworld Auto Show is an exciting new Exhibit Hall attraction that will feature several custom cars from leading manufacturers - highlighted by the latest in iPod integration, among other Mac computer integrations. A Volkswagen GTi and a Porsche Cayenne will display the latest in vehicle-specific iPod docks; a vintage Buick Riviera will be custom fitted with a Mac mini; plus many more Mac-auto integrations from leading companies Alpine, Dension Audio Systems, 2point5, and Schosche. Open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.
