| Will Downing Presents The “Strike Against Stroke” Sunday November 27 th, 2005 Grammy nominated recording artist Will Downing presents the “Strike Against Stroke” charity bowling event. A Portion of the Proceeds will benefit The American Stroke Association In an effort to expand his role as a national spokesperson for the American Stroke Association. “Strike Against Stroke” will be an on-going stroke awareness campaign that will allow celebrities, fans, friends, bowlers and non-bowlers to come together for a day of fun in support of a great cause. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in America and the leading cause of serious long-term disability. The prevalence of hypertension in the African Americans puts them at even greater risk, with death rates significantly above the national average. A portion of the proceeds from “Strike Against Stroke” will be donated to the National Stroke Association and earmarked for distribution in the African American Community. This effort will be supported by The National Bowling Association, which boasts over 30, 000 members.
