Photographer William Claxton at The Booksmith

In 1959 and 1960, photographer William Claxton and the late German musicologist Joachim Berendt traveled the United States is search of jazz. The result of their collaboration was a landmark collection of photographs and recordings which - having been long out of print - has now been reissued in a truly monumental (nearly 20 lbs and more than 700 pages) new edition entitled “Jazzlife.” William Claxton will speak about his books and photography, and a booksigning will follow.

This event is William Claxton's only San Francisco appearance, and a rare opportunity to meet this legendary photographer!
