| New 2-DVD set: Marcus Miller - Master of All Trades KOCH Records, in conjunction with American Treasures, announces the release of "Marcus Miller - Master of All Trades." The new 2-DVD set will be released on March 22, 2005 and is loaded with extras, including numerous interview segments with esteemed artists Herbie Hancock, Lalah Hathaway, Roberta Flack, Luther Vandross, Stanley Clarke, Bill Withers and many others. The live concert was recorded at the famed Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA in October of 2002. Marcus and his incredible band at the time -- Poogie Bell, Dean Brown, Roger Byam, Bruce Flowers, and Michael "Patches" Stewart -- are joined on a few numbers by talented vocalists Lalah Hathaway and Raphael Saadiq, and rip through an amazing set, showcasing Marcus' incredible talents. Miller is a true Master of All Trades. He has been dubbed "the Superman of Soul, " and is often thought of as one of the best electric bassists in the world. His acclaimed album "M2" won the 2001 Grammy for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Miller's compositions have been recorded by Aretha Franklin ("Jump to It"), Jay-Z ("Can't Knock the Hustle"), Luther Vandross ("Power of Love/Love Power"), EU ("Da Butt"), and Miles Davis ("Tutu"). In addition, Marcus Miller as a bassist has performed on over 400 CDs including recordings by artists as diverse as Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey, Bill Withers, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, and LL Cool J. Marcus Miller the producer has worked with jazz legends (Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, David Sanborn), extraordinary singers (Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, Take 6, Al Jarreau), and hip hop artists (Me'shell Ndegeocello). He is also the composer of film and TV scores whose music has given life to at least a dozen feature films including "Boomerang" (Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry), "Siesta" (Ellen Barkin and Gabriel Byrne), the hit TV series "Everybody Hates Chris" and even an animated children's film, "Trumpet of the Swan."
