| 2005 National Medal of Arts Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell today said his nominee to win the nation's highest honor for artistic excellence has won the award. The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia received the 2005 National Medal of Arts Thursday morning from President George W. Bush during a ceremony in the White House Oval Office. It's the first time the award has ever gone to a visual arts institution.
