| November 11 and 18: "Dr. Wei Wei and the Fake Brain" "Dr. Wei Wei and the Fake Brain" was originally a comic book that the indie band, Fake Brain, distributed at gigs. It has grown into a multimedia, multi-disciplinary performance, complete with elaborate costumes and a video-projected animation. The story is told through nearly twenty songs, all performed live by FakeBrain. It follows the band as they become transformed into tiny, naked versions of themselves, serve the maniacal whims of a perverted "Wall Street guy" and then undergo a hallucinatory, quasi-religious experience with a dead blues singer. The last two performances of this show will be performed at The BoweryPoetry Club, , New York, Friday, November 11 and Friday, November 18. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Jazz News :: home page |
