| Sydney bands to perform at Nelson Bay festival An event that will make a delightful day trip from Sydney and Newcastle New South Wales will be held at Nelson Bay Foreshore at Port Stephens on the 12th and 13th November 2005. The event is called “Tastes Of The bay Food and Wine festival”. Nelson Bay is known for its white beaches, crystal waters, subtropical climate and pods of friendly and curious bottlenose dolphins, Port Stephens is a beautiful seaside resort only two hours drive north of Sydney or 40 minutes north of Newcastle. Nelson Bay is the home of the Port Stephens fishing fleet and a departure point for dolphin watch cruises. Other highlights of the area include many water and nature based activities, including fishing, scuba diving, and exploring untamed natural wilderness and the extensive sand dunes of Stockton Beach. Tastes Of The Bay will include presentations of wine and food that will be catered for by 12 wineries from the Hunter and Mudgee Regions and 12 award winning fine food restaurants including: Mexican, Seafood, Spanish, Sushi, Thai, Indian and a Noodle Bar. Entertainment will include: Fireworks, Tastes of Fashion, Local Produce, Boutique Beer Tasting. Jazz and Seafood Cruises aboard Moonshadow III. And Jazz, blues and gospel music concerts on the foreshore. One of the exciting acts to appear on Sunday the 13th November will be Julie Wilson with C’est Si Bon, joining in will be Mark Tinson on guitar and the fabulous duo of Marie and Peter Rappolt of Viva the band from Sydney. Julie and C’est Si Bon will be performing some Gospel tunes and Jazz standards from 11 am until Noon and from 1pm until 3pm Marie and Peter will be adding to Julie’s presentation with performances of some wonderful show tunes with features such as Czardas and Flight Of The Bumble Bee along with a repertoire of Swing, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Latin, French and Spanish tunes. In addition to all the activities located around the foreshore and the town, there are other featured attractions in the environs including: Monarch Historical Museum, Port Stephens Community Arts Centre, The Wetlands Centre, Oakville Farm And Fauna World, Hunter Regional Botanic Gardens, Nelson Head Inner Lighthouse Cottage, Tilligerry Habitat, Inner Light Tea rooms, Historic Tanilba House, Tomago House and Chapel. A day trip to Nelson Bay on 12th and 13th November from Sydney or Newcastle should provide an exciting and memorable event.
