| Capcity Cohort hits the Bayou Nov 5 Capcity Cohort, the six piece groove-jazz band becoming famous for its silent movie theme nights, returns to the Bayou for a night of lively music Saturday, Nov. 5. The band, led by Michael MacDonald on piano, has Ron Rancourt and Kevin Sheldrick on drums and bass respectively, and Joe Cuccaro on guitar. Guest Tyler Harris is on tenor sax, and Ken Suddaby adds trumpet, flute and clarinet. The mix of instruments allows for just the right sounds for each original composition. The styles you'll hear at a Cohort gig range from fast swing, to moody funk grooves, to fun latin rhythms and even secret agent spy themes! Improvised conversations between the players add to the already creative material. There's no question - this band continues to grow and create with every passing gig. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Jazz News :: home page |
