| Jarmo Savolainen tour in Argentina and Uruguay by Mika Kauhanen Pianist, composer Jarmo Savolainen will give concerts with his quartet in Argentina and Uruguay on November 16th–20th, and as a duo in Brazil on November 22nd–26th. Savolainen's quartet in Argentina and Uruguay features Austrian saxophonist Karlheinz Miklin plus two Argentinians, bassist Alejandro Herrera and drummer Pocho Lapouble. In Brazil he will perform with the Brazilian-born vocalist and guitarist Sergio Machado, nowadays a long-time resident of Finland. The set lists will include music of Savolainen, Miklin, and Machado, as well as some cover pieces and Finnish folk melodies. In July Savolainen played in Venezuela with his Soloduotrio project. With increasing appearances in South America, he feels confident about the forthcoming tour: "It has gained a good amount of coverage in the local media. Especially in Brazil my music and playing has been received well".
