| FSU Center Stage Presents Hannah Bingman The Frostburg State University Center Stage’s Live! at the Loft Series presents FSU's own Hannah Bingman on Friday, Oct. 14, in the Lane University Center. The folk singer-songwriter hails from Beaver Springs and has toured venues throughout central Pennsylvania since the age of 16. She has released three albums of original material and has been welcomed into the coffeehouse, bar and punk circuits of Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. Her influences lie in roots music like Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson and Bessie Smith as well as the Beatles, . but her style draws comparisons to contemporaries Norah Jones, Ani DiFranco and John Mayer. Bingman is studying classical and jazz guitar at FSU, where she also gathers the funk influences of the college’s gospel choir for which she plays guitar. Her songs have been used on the soundtrack of the prize-winning independent film “One Number Two, ” Lewisburg, Pa., by filmmakers Todd Bieber and Juliana Brafa. She’s showcased the last two years at the Millennium Music Conference and won an Honorable Mention for her song “Sorry I Am” in the Billboard World Song Competition.
