Shemekia Copeland To Appear On National Public Radio

Shemekia Copeland, whose new CD THE SOUL TRUTH (produced by Steve Cropper) has been called “tough and funny….uncompromising…unabashed soul” by “The New York Times, ” will appear this Sunday, October 2, on National Public Radio's “All Things Considered.” The wide-ranging interview will feature clips of songs from the new CD as well as touching on all aspects of Copeland's remarkable rise to the top of the blues world. The CD has received rave reviews in “Billboard, ” “Entertainment Weekly, ” “The Chicago Tribune, ” “Mojo, ” “USA Today, ” “The Philadelphia Inquirer, ” “Relix, ” “Vanity Fair” and countless other publications around the country.

Radio has also taken to the CD and the first single, “Who Stole My Radio?” The song recently debuted on the “Radio & Records” (R&R) AAA Indicator Chart at #30. The songs are ranked by total plays for the airplay week of Sunday September 18 through September 24. The R&R AAA Indicator Chart is comprised of 48 tastemaker stations across the US that play adult rock. The CD recently reached #3 (with a bullet) on the “Billboard” Blues Chart and #10 on the “College Music Journal” (CMJ) AAA Airplay Chart.
