| Erica Lindsay with Oliver Lake/John Hicks Big Band 'ASR Records artist, Erica Lindsay will be performing with Oliver Lake's Big Band this week at the Jazz Gallery in NYC. Ms. Lindsay, is a world-class tenor saxophonist, composer and recording artist who first debuted as a leader on the NYC jazz scene in the late 1980s. She can also be heard on the latest Oliver Lake Big Band recording, Cloth (Passin' Thru Records). Her quintet was first heard on her debut release for Candid Records (CCD 79040), Erica Lindsay - Dreamer. The Penguin Book of Jazz Recordings called Dreamer, “Tremendously impressive, ” and “a record that shouldn't be missed.” Erica signed with the Kansas City USA based jazz label, ‘ASR Records in 2004. Her first ‘ASR Records release is titled, The Flame, a recording of vocal compositions featuring the vocalist, Cheryl Alexander, and the lyrics of Kathleen Sannwald. A prolific producer and composer, Lindsay has three new CDs scheduled for commercial release and world-wide distribution. Erica Lindsay has also been performing, touring and recording recently with leaders: Oliver Lake, Baikida Carroll, Howard Johnson, Jeff Siegel, Sumi Tonooka, Thurman Barker and the San Francisco based group, Trace Elements.
