| Gloria Lynne in Concert " I Wish You Love" Gloria Lynne sings favorite jazz tunes in her musical memoir “I Wish You Love” on October 7& 8 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center Ms. Lynne will perform such songs as “I Get A Kick Out of You, ” “ A June Night” “ Serenade in Blue, ” “ Tower of Strength” ”, “I’m Glad There’s You” “Love I Found You, ” “My Funny Valentine”, “ Don’t Take Your Love From Me, ” and of course her signature hit “ I Wish You Love.” “I Wish You Love” shocked the music world in the 1960’s becoming the first song to crossover from the jazz charts to the R& B and pop charts. Renowned composer Roy Merriwether will accompany Ms. Lynne on the piano, with Vince Ecton on drums, Leon Dorsey on bass and Gregg Skaff on guitar. In the past Gloria has performed with Ray Charles, Billy Ecktine, Ella Fitzgerald, Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte and others. She has also co-written “Watermelon Man” with Herbie Hancock and “All Day Long” with Kenny Burrell. She has received numerous awards including: The Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s Pioneer Award, The National Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame, Gloria Lynne Day in New York City, The National Heritage Award and the Prestigious Eagle Award given by Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields.
